It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that we share with you the sad news that our friend Jim Vacarro passed away suddenly on March 15, 2020.
A well known and respected figure on Cape Cod, Jim had more than 35 years experience as a business and civic leader. Following executive stints with large organizations he used his entrepreneurial talents to found and grow a number of prosperous concerns. His expertise as a business consultant, his knowledge of the Cape’s economy and his own experience in buying and selling Cape Cod real estate and investment property is a benefit to both buyers and sellers and adds value for our clients. In addition to his business experience, Jim was an acknowledged community leader, he was a past Chairman of the Board of the Cape Cod Foundation, a trustee of the Cape Cod Association and the Joshua Nickerson Society. He served as President of the Mashpee Community Concert Committee, as a member of the Cape Cod Economic Roundtable and as a Trustee for Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital – Cape Cod. He was the founding President of Mashpee TV – Channel 99. For many years he spearheaded the popular Mashpee Night at the Pops and served several years as Chairman of the Mashpee Board of Selectmen. Jim was also a Director of the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. He was also honored by the Chamber of Commerce as Citizen of Year.
Bruce Maikath – Real Estate Broker
Bruce holds a Massachusetts real estate broker’s license and has been actively involved in Cape Cod real estate sales for more than 12 years. Prior to becoming a broker/owner of Seagrass Realty, he was a sales executive at two other local real estate firms. He is held in high regard by others involved in the local real estate sector. Bruce is a former painting contractor and has extensive knowledge of the building and construction industry and is thoroughly familiar with and has sold homes in most every section of Mashpee and other Upper Cape communities. He holds a B.S. degree from Northeastern University.
